EXL Center Faculty Caucus

The EXL Center for Experiential Learning will host its Spring 2019 Faculty Caucus in the center in Bierce Library 168 on Tuesday, April 23, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

This is an open forum for any faculty member interested in experiential learning on the UA campus who also wishes to learn about and contribute to the direction of the EXL Center. Attending one or more of these caucuses makes the participant eligible to run for the EXL Center’s Faculty Steering Committee. See complete details.

You can still register for SBIR/STTR information session

The University of Akron Research Foundation will host a workshop that focuses on proposals for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. SBIR and STTR awards are offered by all federal agencies and range from $150,000 to $225,000 for Phase 1 awardees, and go to collaborative work between university researchers and small businesses. The workshop will take place Monday, April 22, at The Bit Factory (5th Floor), located in Bounce Innovation Hub, 526 South Main St., Akron. See details or register online.

Faculty Research Committee Summer Fellowship recipients announced

The Faculty Research Committee has selected 14 winners of the 2019 Faculty Research Committee Summer Fellowship Program. Thirty-two proposals were submitted for consideration, making the selection a very competitive process.

Each recipient will receive a $10,000 grant to conduct research through the summer.
