This page is for students who want to earn a bachelor's or associate degree. If you want to earn a master's degree, law degree or Ph.D., use this page instead.

1. Apply

Before you begin the application, learn about required application materials.

Choose one to complete:

  1. Apply using UA's application, or
  2. Apply using the Common Application

If you do not have a Social Security number, please enter 999999999 where requested on the application.

A $50 application fee is required. Pay it here if you have not paid it already.

Friendly reminder: Applicants must apply by the deadline. Application started or finished after the deadline have no guarantee of being reviewed in time. See the application deadlines.

2. Submit required application materials

We require that you submit school transcripts or a graduation certificate/diploma or a college transcript.

For admission purposes, digital versions of international documents (transcripts, language proficiency report, etc.) are acceptable and can be sent to PDF format is preferred.  However, official documentation must be submitted for the university to issue I-20.

U.S. transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to the University of Akron.

3. Check application status

After you have submitted your application, check your status to ensure we have all your documents. To check your application status or update your application, send an email to

You will receive your admit decision by email. The decision will come about three weeks after we have received all your materials. 

Please note: For your benefit and protection, we will only discuss applications with the applicant and those that the applicant has given us written permission to communicate information.

4. Confirm your enrollment

If you receive an email saying you have been admitted, complete the following Intent to Enroll document to confirm your seat at The University of Akron.
